Apprenticeship
In the past any kind of formal training has been against the ethos of this work. However, there is currently a trend internationally towards more formalised training. My personal view is that the best possible way to learn is by ‘doing’. Being a representative in other people’s constellations gives you a good, solid grounding in the work, so I would recommend to anyone wanting to facilitate constellations, that you firstly gain lots of experience by being a representative in other people’s constellations. It is also very important to do your own personal constellations, as any unresolved issues within your own soul will manifest as ‘blindspots’ when acting as a facilitator.
Bert Hellinger has expressed the view in the past that the most important qualification for doing this work is that you are at peace with your parents. You will be asked to write about this issue when applying for an apprenticeship. As an apprentice you will have lots of opportunity to be a representative and at the teaching and introductory days, a chance to practise your facilitation skills.
Requirements
My recommended requirements for joining the apprenticeship scheme would be:
- that you have participated in at least 3 previous constellation workshops
- that you have read and understood "Love's Hidden Symmetry"
Aims
It is hoped that through your experience as an apprentice you would have the opportunity to enhance your skills and ability in the following areas:
- recognising and understanding recurring patterns in constellations
- acquiring relevant information from participant
- knowing when to stop a constellation
- assisting representatives
- speaking the truth
- trusting your intuition
- having enough background understanding of the work to be able to talk about what you are doing
- self and group awareness - bodily sensations and energy levels
The apprenticeship would entail:
- Attendance at 6 teaching days
- Attendance at 6x3 day or 9x2 day workshops (or a mixture totalling 18 days)
- A minimum of 10 tutorials to be arranged as appropriate to individual requirements
- Final tutorial to assess whether you feel ready to run your own workshops
